Park Caretaking Fund

Caretaking Volunteers in Alton Baker ParkCaring and advocating for our public parks is essential if we want them to be healthy, beautiful, and safe for visitors from all walks of life. Every year, hundreds of Nearby Nature volunteers contribute thousands of hours of their time to caring for Alton Baker Park.

You can help out by making  a donation to our Park Caretaking Fund. Your contribution will help facilitate volunteer coordination, work party planning, native plant purchases, and more. Click on the icon below to make your donation today!

You can also get involved by joining us at a work party to do native plant restoration, invasive plant removal, litter patrol, trail crew, and more. Work parties happen at least once a month and are open to groups as well as individuals. Click here to see when our next event is happening.

Note: Our Park Caretaking Fund is formally named the Peara Memorial Park Caretaking Fund -- thanks to the countless hours of work done by former volunteer Ed Peara. Ed was an amazing man who worked with us, as well as many other organizations in our community. We miss Ed at Nearby Nature and will always be grateful for the many generous contributions he made to our work.Ed the Master Carver
