Join Nearby Nature for a Restoration Celebration where we will be performing maintenance on a tree planting from 2015. As the weeds grow and the mulch decomposes, sometimes the trees can be at a disadvantage. Lets make sure these trees grow to be big and tall but replacing mulch, weeding around them, and marking them for the watering crews. This tree planting is part of a multi-decade project to extend the riparian tree cover on the bank of the Willamette River through the entire length of the Whilamut Natural Area.
Wear appropriate clothing for the weather, bring a water bottle, and bring a couple of friends as well! Snacks, tools, and gloves will be provided.
This work party will meet at the 'Knickerbocker Bike Bridge' in the East end of Alton Baker Park. Parking is available at the community Gardens of Alton Baker Park, or across from Autzen Stadium at the intersection of Leo Harris Parkway and Walnut Road. If you have any questions about directions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org prior to the event.
