Qualifications: - Experience working with pre-school to elementary school children
- Good public presentation and communication skills
- Available on weekends (upcoming dates: Eugene Celebration on Sept. 13-14, Nature Quest on Sept. 27, Mount Pisgah Mushroom Festival on Oct. 26)
- Vehicle available for transporting large costumes/equipment
- Organized, independent work style
- Enthusiasm, sense of humor
- Knowledge of local natural history/wildlife
- Experience doing costumed presentations desirable, but not required

Responsibilities:

Coordinate Participation in Weekend Community Festivals: Coordinate information/activity booths at weekend community festivals. Staff on-going events as well as seek out new venues for participation.
· Coordinate Nearby Nature participation in weekend community festivals
· Assist staff with recruiting volunteers for festivals as needed
· Supervise volunteers at festivals and staff personally as necessary
· Prepare and/or organize needed information/craft materials for each festival
· Set-up and take down booth, equipment, and other materials at each festival

Coordinate and Staff Weekend Nature Quests: Coordinate our monthly family nature walks program.
· Plan trail activities, games, crafts, and nature study for each event
· Lead nature walks and activities for groups of 15-25 people
· Coordinator volunteer assistants
· Dress in Kinder Critter costumes as needed
· Help promote programs

Kinder Critter Birthday Parties: Help schedule and present weekend birthday parties in Kinder Critter costumes in private as well as public venues. (The Kinder Critters are wild animal costumes including Frog, Butterfly, Bat, Owl, Spider, Dragonfly, Beaver, and others.)
· Promote birthday party program through distribution of flyers, ads, and personal appearances
· Coordinate scheduling of weekend Kinder Critter birthday parties as needed
· Appear at weekend birthday parties in costume
· Maintain/repair/improve costumes as needed

Benefits: Hourly wage of $12-13 depending on experience (hours will vary depending on festivals and weekend programs, 5-10 per week in general, possibly more depending on experience)
