Kinder Critters
Invite a “wild” animal to visit your pre-school, child care
center, K-2nd grade classroom, library, or birthday party! Hear yarns spun by a
spider, sing songs with a butterfly, or rap rhymes with a frog.
During each Kinder Critter program, a Nearby Nature staffer
costumed as a wild creature from a nearby pond, meadow, or forest will share a
fascinating combination of facts, stories, and movement games with your kids.
Choose butterfly, frog, owl, raccoon, beaver, spider, or
turtle. Critters are subject to staff and volunteer availability.
Program Details
School Programs Cost: The first Kinder Critter visit per school/child care center costs $45. A second visit on the same day, right after the first, costs $25. Larger group presentations, for multiple classrooms or extra large groups, cost $70. There is a travel fee for out-of-town programs.
Birthday Party Cost: Party visits by a Critter cost $45 for members, $55 for
non-members. Critter parties are most appropriate for kids 3-8
years old.
Capacity: School programs are generally presented for one
class at a time, up to two classes per school per day. Larger groups can also
be served. Due to the interactive nature of our presentations, small groups are
preferable.
Times: Program times and days are flexible, but depend on staff and volunteer availability. Each program lasts about 30 minutes.
Location: Programs can be presented in child care centers, classrooms, homes, or parks.
