Volunteers should register in advance at SOLVE’s website\, bring a snack and water bottle\, and dress for the weather in closed-toe shoes and clothes they don’t mind getting dirty. \nSpace is limited due to COVID restrictions. Youth volunteers ages 10 to 17 are welcome to attend with adult supervision. Please plan to observe social distancing throughout the cleanup with anyone not in your household. \nLocation: Volunteers will meet outside the Eugene Science Center in Alton Baker Park (2300 Leo Harris Pkwy\, Eugene\, OR 97401). DESCRIPTION:Join Nearby Nature as part of the 5th Annual Willamette River Festival for a casual riverside litter patrol on foot! Plan to walk about two miles up and down the north riverside of the Whilamut Natural Area in Alton Baker Park doing litter patrol. We will supply grabbers\, trash bags\, and gloves. Please wear appropriate work clothing and closed-toe shoes  and bring a water bottle.  This activity is best for adults and kids 13+ years (with an adult). Join neighbors\, community organizations\, and local businesses in picking up litter and helping to ensure the space is clean and safe for everyone – all while enjoying a stroll in the park. \nMeet on the lawn by the yurt at Nearby Nature’s site in Alton Baker Park. Nearby Nature will provide gloves\, tools\, and small snacks. Volunteers should register in advance\, bring a water bottle\, and dress for the weather in closed-toe shoes and clothes they don’t mind getting dirty. \nDue to potential safety concerns related to kids and picking up trash\, we ask that all participants are 10 years of age or older.

DESCRIPTION:This Martin Luther King\, Jr. Day\, join Nearby Nature and volunteers from the University of Oregon Holden Center in a Day of Service. Pick up litter in Alton Baker Park\, help maintain the stencil mural on the Frohnmayer Footbridge\, and (weather permitting) paint over graffiti in the area around the bridge and the Autzen footpath. \nMeet by the park kiosk on the north side of the Frohnmayer (Autzen) Footbridge. Car parking is available at the dog park/community garden\, boat launch\, or near Autzen stadium. Covered bike parking at Nearby Nature’s site next to the yurt. Tools\, supplies\, and snacks provided.
