SUMMARY:Wonder Keepers Preschool Spring 2026 Session Begins
DESCRIPTION:In this all outdoor preschool program\, children enjoy sensory adventures\, cooperative activities\, nature storytelling\, garden exploration\, Earth art\, and free time in our outdoor play spaces. Our Wonder Keepers develop a personal connection to the natural world\, make new friends\, and develop confidence through independent exploring. \nPrograms happen Monday\, Wednesday\, and Friday from 8:30 am-12:30 pm at our Learnscape in Alton Baker Park\, rain or shine\, for kids 3-5 years old. You may request to register your child for one\, two\, or three days a week (as space is available). Flexible drop off is between 8:30-9 am and flexible pick up is between 12-12:30 pm. Note that enrollment is ongoing and we will prorate your final fees due according to when you join the group. As of January 2026\, space is limited for our Spring program but please get on our wait list in case things change! \nSee complete details at Wonder Keepers. \nOur Spring 2026 season begins March 30th. Online application for enrollment is ongoing. Once you apply\, we will contact you promptly to discuss whether or not our all outdoor\, all weather program is a good match for your child. Once we have confirmed your enrollment\, a minimum $50 non-refundable deposit per day of the week ($25 for scholarship applicants) is due to hold your spot. DESCRIPTION:Participants in this program enjoy after school adventures in Alton Baker Park and our Learnscape. Park exploration\, natural science activities\, Earth art\, and free time in our outdoor play spaces help students get to know their nearby animal and plant neighbors and deepen their personal connections to the amazing natural community we all call home. \nPrograms happen Tuesdays and Fridays from 2:30-5:30 pm and Wednesdays from 2-5:30 pm at our Learnscape in Alton Baker Park\, rain or shine\, kids ages 5-11 (K-5th grade). Flexible drop off from 2:30-3:30 pm on Tuesday and Friday and from 2-3 pm on Wednesdays. Pick up between 5-5:30 pm. Note that online enrollment is ongoing and we will prorate your final fees due according to when you join the group. As of January 2026\, space is still available for all days in our Spring 2026 session! For our Friday session\, we are currently gathering names on a wait list. Join neighbors\, community organizations\, and local businesses as we pick up litter to help ensure the park is clean and safe for everyone – all while enjoying a stroll in the park. Maybe you’ll see a great blue heron\, an osprey\, or a dragonfly! \nMeet on the Water Wise Garden lawn at Nearby Nature’s site in Alton Baker Park. Nearby Nature will provide disposable gloves and tools. Please wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing\, and bring a backpack for hands-free convenience. Feel free to bring your personal tools if available and a reusable water bottle to support our sustainability efforts. Volunteers should register in advance with SOLVE here. Due to potential safety concerns related to kids and picking up trash\, we ask that all participants are 10 years of age or older and accompanied by an adult.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Community Science Investigation! This month we will use iNaturalist to collect observations of the web of life in the Whilamut Natural Area and our Learnscape at our Bioblitz (part of the City Nature Challenge 2026)! Work with a small group and a knowledgeable leader who can help get you set up to contribute to this fun community science project. Volunteers will take photos of different plants\, animals\, insects\, and fungi and upload them to iNaturalist for identification and a final species count. \nDesigned for adult (and mature youth) participants. If you have a smartphone or a camera\, bring one to take pictures. Smartphone users please load the iNaturalist app onto your phone if possible.
