Thanks to a grant from the Oregon Parks Foundation Fund and support from the Friends of Hendricks Park, we are offering a new Neighborhood Parks Discovery Program. Through this program, we will lead outdoor adventures for one class at a time in parks/natural areas that are within walking or very short distance of schools. This program will be offered to a limited number of classrooms and scheduling will depend upon the feasibility of your location and the availability of our staff.
Most programs will be nature walks similar to those we host in Alton Baker Park, however, in smaller spaces we may facilitate large group game sessions or pond/grass netting for insects. The program cost will be similar to our Alton Baker Park Nature Walks in some cases and free or very low cost in others. Some schools may also save money because they will not have to pay for school bus transportation (kids will walk to the site) or transportation costs will be minimal.
