Every summer, Nearby Nature runs a series of week-long outdoor daycamps in local parks. At each camp, an adult volunteer or an intern and a youth Outdoor Leader (13-18 years old) help our staff with games, outdoor science, crafts, music, and more.
Adult volunteer assistants commit to helping for at least one week-long camp per summer, three-four hours per day. Interns and Outdoor Leaders commit to four or more weeks. Training will be provided for all daycamp assistants, Outdoor Leaders, and interns in 2021 on June 12th from 10am-4pm. Details will be provided in early June. Teen volunteers should read our Outdoor Leader Job Description and fill out an Outdoor Leader application (Microsoft Word Fill-In Form or Printable PDF Form). Adult volunteers should fill out a Volunteer Questionnaire and potential interns will find application materials here.
All 2021 volunteers should be prepared to practice physical distancing, have masks available, and follow all required sanitation and illness prevention protocols.
