As part of SOLVE’s statewide Beach and Riverside Cleanup, Nearby Nature is once again hosting a cleanup of Alton Baker Park and the Whilamut Natural Area on Saturday, Sep. 21 from 10 am to 1 pm. This event will focus on the extensive waterways and riparian areas found in the park, protecting the creatures that live here and enhancing natural beauty. Join neighbors, community organizations, and local businesses in picking up litter and helping to ensure the space is clean and safe for everyone – all while enjoying a stroll in the park.
Meet on the lawn by the yurt at Nearby Nature’s site in Alton Baker Park. Nearby Nature will provide gloves, tools, and small snacks. Volunteers should register in advance, bring a water bottle, and dress for the weather in closed-toe shoes and clothes they don’t mind getting dirty.
Due to potential safety concerns related to kids and picking up trash, we ask that all participants are 10 years of age or older.
